They could come back, Karen. I have the same problem with campanulas here
outside of Cincinnati. It doesn't matter which species, the whole genus gets
eaten to the ground, glomerata, whatever. Even the 'Cup and Saucer' annual
(biennial?) type. Every plant around these can be ignored, but the foliage
soon gets chomped off on any campanula. My like culprits are rabbits,
groundhogs, and deer. For some reason I think the deer are innocent of this
one. I like the groundhogs as culprits but I'm currently pretty unhappy with
them anyway. But I have no evidence.
