Hi
I was out watering my daylilies this morning and noticed that on some of them, the flower stalks have formed baby plants at joints in the stalks. They look like offsets. I've never seen this before, is it common? And how do I treat the offsets to make them into full sized, rooted plants?
Nan
Hi Nan,
Not common, but some varieties seem to exhibit this. Where I've wanted more plants, I have just cut the stem just above and below the joint and stuck the plantlet in some rooting medium (no hormone needed). Within a few weeks, they root for me.
