question re dahlias

Greetings: As I've written here before, my dahlias have just only now
begun to bloom, and some of them still not even showing any buds;
here in NYS zone 5, it could freeze at night sometime this month;
my question is: will the dahlias that didn't get to bloom this year be
worth keeping over the winter? or will their failure to bloom one
season affect them permanently?
