Sorry not to reply sooner due to holiday and catching up on mail, but I think
your right I was fortunate to get cuttings this year from David Way's
garden, co-authour of penstemons 'Gardeners guide' and they have flowered
very well in pots, but the ones in the garden have been very patchy (and
constantly on the alert for eelworm which debilitates) and as it would seem
from other mail on this topic that they are short lived in other areas, maybe
they do run out of steam. 'Husker Red' i have had for some time but has never
been a good doer, which sets the mind wondering why I keep it!
Angelica is another topic i see we have reached which another favourite, one
in particular is A.hispanica whose dissected leaf is so shiny it looks like
its been polished. Sorry if this duplicates other comments but i'm still
behind on my mail!
