Re: Cimicifuga

Hello again Ceres,
Funny ... I stopped carrying 'White Pearl' because I found it to be
unreliable in my garden. Certainly does have a wonderful honey-spicy
fragrance when in bloom, but... it only bloomed every second or third year,
or curled up and went dormant when it got hot here.
Believe my favorite is the Japanese, or Maple-leaf, Cimicifuga. C.
acerina. Seems to stand up to our hot and dry a bit better than some of the
others. Also it is short in height, only about two feet when in bloom. Have
it with hardy begonia, ferns, Arum italicum for the bright berries.
