Hi Gene,

   I'm joining this thread late, but I'm wondering if you have any experience
   with the other Cimicifugas.  I'm really liking the foliage of C. japonica,
   but mine hasn't bloomed yet.

   I also tried C. mairei and C. rubifolia, but the former dried out and
   died back.  I don't know if I'll see it again (I'm not sure if I care
   though -- the foliage sure stinks!).  C. rubifolia has just kind of
   been sitting there; have you tried it with any success?
