Hakones must look better with some heat

I had a hard time selling the hakones grass as it didn't look very good in the pot. So does it like it hot? Shade isn't it? Where do you have yours planted? I will try them again next year, hope gardeners saw them in the gardens and liked them. LOVE the picture of them, but the plant wasn't very pretty in the pot. Any suggestions? Thanks Becky

Ah the grasses - most of them are great - just love the Hakones - have a couple of them. Phlox still great, gaura is still full of blooms, caryopteris, plumbago (the bue is wonderful!), colchicums. Two of my anemones are full of blooms, especially happy with "Pamina" which was new this year. Third anemone that I've had a few years seems to be sulking - lots of foliage, no blossoms. But Tricyrtis are happy! Asters seem to be on their way out but my sweet
autumn clematis is magnificent!

Hi Gene,
toward the end of season, I tend shoe horn in any bargains I find.
Hmm, in bloom here
