I consistantly fill in with annuals. I like the ones that don't seem to
cover themselves in bloom as much and thus look a little more like th
eperennails they are with. This year I particularly liked some newer
types I tried-a tall blue ageratum and one called diasia (spelling). I
also included some larkspur which were nice in the rose-perenial bed and
some salvia farenciae (spelling?) both blue and white. I also planted
some of the typical salvia which were a dark purple. Next year I am
going to add the white zinnia angustifolia. I find these can add color
during times when the perenials are devoid of color but I try to avoid
the typical nothing but color annuals.
