Re: not lobelias

Last night I was trying to narrow down what member of the Compositae
(from the fluffy seedheads you describe) you might have instead of the
Lobelia: I came up with the following genera: Senecio (Groundsel),
Ligularia, Erigeron, Asters, Helenium among them....

You mention the foliage looks like Senecio....how tall it gets will
depend on what species you have---and by the way, they are NOT all
weeds!!!!! This however, is a good clue, as the foliage of many Senecios
is quite unique....often large, and paddle shaped. Some have been moved
to the genus Ligularia....
