Well Kemberly, I thought when you mentioned this plant before, on the
hummingbird thread, that it was probably Russelia equisetiformis, but that
was way off. I can't find any reference to 'Christmas Candle' and there a a
few for 'Firecracker plant.' Do you think it might be Crossandra
infundibuliformis (syn. C. unduliflia) aka Firecracker flower? Erect
subshrub with slender stems ovate to lance shaped wavy margined glossy mid
green leaves -- fan shaped org/yel to salmon/pk/red flowers to 1 1/4" across
usually borne in axillary, pinecone-like spikes... at any time of the
year.... C.nilotica is similar but with fan shaped vivid red to org
flowers produced in dense axillary or terminal spikes to 3" long.
I really tried on this, nothing turned up
on any of the web sources I checked. I know how frustrating it is not to know
what's what! Good luck!
