Cardinal Climber and Cypress vine are two different Ipomeas. The foliage
is different and it is the Cypress vine that readily reseeds. They are both
red and the hummingbirds do love them. The foliage on cypress vine is very
fine and ferny. The Cardinal Climber leaves are larger and have deep cuts.
Shaped sort of like a maple, (I think). I grow them both and they are very
neat vines growing in a Sweet Autumn Clematis it is very striking.
