Re: Mandeville

I rooted dipladenia using stem cuttings which mature and softwood. I
used the commercial Rootone powder on them and got about 90 percent to
root after a month. The secret is that you need warmth and humidity
provided by a mist system. The variety was "Red Riding Hood".

A neighbor gave me a pot of mandevillea which she thought was dead from
the frost last fall. The tops were completely dried up. I put the pot
under a greenhouse bench and just forgot about it.

In June it start sending up sprouts from the base of the plant. Some
sprouts came elsewhere in the pot which leads me to believe that it can
sprout from sections of the roots.
