Barb, not Chris here, but if you can get them in the ground in the next
week or so, should do OK if they are fairly decent sized plants to start
with. Tiny liners or small, young plants may be more subject to frost
heaving once winter sets in - depends on what Ma Nature dishes out this
year. Just mulch them well and keep an eye on them during thaws over
winter - push any that have heaved back into the ground. We should have at
least a month and maybe two and a half before the ground freezes, ample
time for plants to get settled in and make some root growth before winter.
Figured I'd butt in as you're probably closer to where I am than where
Chris is from a climate standpoint.
