Greetings,
>What about the rest of you? What are your interests? Your backgrounds?
I garden on two acres about 20 miles Southwest of Chicago's loop. My
special interests are two-fold. First, I am attempting to persuade every
bumblebee in Illinois to relocate to my property by establishing both
habitat (nest boxes) and native food sources in abundance. Second,
I start all plants from seed (about 3000 per year).
I obtain my seed through trading. Two of the plants mentioned in today's
posts (Silene regia and Rattlesnake master) are seeds which I will be
attempting to germinate this spring, along with quite a few species of
other prairie plants such as asters, goldenrods, spurges, penstemons, etc.
My background? Two inconsequential degrees a long time ago, I've been
everywhere, done everything, in pursuit of cash. 'Couldn't make a dime
if I found a quarter on the sidewalk. Good at everything else, though.
Expert at nothing.
Do I qualify?
