I have been able to control Brome, for conversion to native
grasses and forbs, with a tank mix of Plateau and Roundup. This technique will
only work if you want to eliminate everything to make a conversion or as a spot
treatment. It will not work to eliminate brome from an existing
stand.

Subject: Bromus control
Hello, I’m new to this forum
and hope that these types of questions are appropriate for this discussion
list.
Does anyone have any
experience with the control of Bromus
japonicus/ unioloides? Or know of any authors/publications that have
dealt with control of either one of these species? I do not have the option of
controlled burns.
I’ve found an nice resource on
the web from the Nature Conservancy
(http://tncweeds.ucdavis.edu/esadocs/documnts/bromtec.html ) but it is only on
B. tectorum. I do not want to make any broad
assumptions on the biology or control of B. japonicus or unioloides although
they are in the same genus.
Thank
you,
HWI
