Crown Vetch

MJ and others-Crown Vetch appears to stay green after other prairie plants
have gone into dormancy, and thus it can be sprayed with Round-up in older
establishments in late October or early November.  We have used this
treatment for the control of Red Clover and I suspect it would also work
with Bird's Foot Trefoil.  Fire will guarantee germination of old seed, but
getting rid of parent stock is where control must begin.  

Just remember you can't spray a new seedings with Round-up because the
immature prairie plants do not go dormant in late fall, and will be killed
by the chemical.
