Question-does fire kill grab grass seeds laying on the ground?
Since crabgrass is an annual and the seeds are viable for more than 15 years
and if fire does not kill seeds, one would need to grow a thick crop of
foliage to keep the sunlight off the ground (the seeds need light and a high
soil temp to germinate)
You might need to use a preemergant herbicide next year to give your other
plants a chance to thicken up.
