Yes, they will absorb the nitrogen to break down. Just add a few handfuls
of high nitrogen fertilizer to the soil; some good lawn fertilizer works
well. Just throw handfuls of fertilizer on the soil where you tilled in
the leaves, and add a little lime to counter the effects of the oak leaves.
You should be Ok, the leaves will also attract the worms which will
aereate the soil.
