I've been curious about this issue, too... asked a question a while back 
about warming, or at least de-chilling, water when I already live where it's 
too darn hot.  Maybe cool water would be refreshing for the plants???

But I did hear from Frank Millican in Louisiana who uses soaker hoses 
directly to the patch - no warming tank - and he grew a new state record 
down in that heat.

I don't think anyone really knows the answer to this question yet.
