Casey, not if they had yellow dots. Cucumber beetles are yellow with black
dots!
They are easy to identify, (I can send you a few thousand this summer if you
want, just let me know! I would be more than happy to)!
Actually just think of a lady bug. Now imagine it yellow with either black
spots, or black vertical stripes. The spotted ones are the spotted cuke
beetles. The striped ones are the striped cuke beetles.
Squash borers have two stages, the moth and the larvae, harder to explain,
but easy when you see a picture. Squash BUGS though, are black, about an
inch or more long, and "sheild-like" in appearance. They can't fly, they
just run around the base of your plants.
As for NEMATODES, they are very very small worms (too small to be seen with
the naked eye). A lot are bad, but there are also good nematodes which
actually can parasatize insect pests bodies, reproduce, poison and and kill
them. I actually have some in a semi dehydrated state I wanted to use
against the larvae of the cuke beetles as well as other pests. Some people
think of it as still "experimental" though.
