I've been reading all the responses and opinions
about different sites and locations for our pumpkins. I have had the
fortune
of having Glen Brown as my mentor. I recently got
asked about a new site in Austin,MN. Which I approve. I respect Tom
Norlin
and Anomsia, Iowa for what they have
accomplished and what a great place to go!
I'm a MN guy and I don't think we'll hurt
Iowa at all. I think Its great that we could have a GPC in MN. We are all just
trying to participate in the hobby. MN doesnt have a Gpc site statewide. Glen is
agood friend of mine and I know he will always participate in Iowa but sometimes
its hard for everybody to travel because of jobs and family. Remember growing is
a hobby and it should be for
fun and frienships, not for personal gain.
Personally, we should take some lessons from the Pacific Northwest Growers,
like
Joel Holland,Jack Larue,Kirk Mombert,Lincoln and
Brett and all the gang. these people are true growers and friends to the sport
of
pumpkin growing....I've dealt with these people and
I can say say they are people to respect. There are a bunch of other growers
from other organizations that are great also but I think we should share and
prosper as a whole. Just my 2 cents worth..
