RE: Planting Early

>	The lattitude line of 42 - 45 degrees is optimum for pumpkin
growing...

While I was unable to get four location's latitudes, here are the numbers
for where 1000 pound pumpkins have been grown:

27 1000+ pumpkins listed on AGGC
10 Outside 42 - 45 degrees
4 unaccounted for: Dueck 1056.5, Kline 1036.5, Black 1018 & Hoult 1010

Every pumpkin over 1100 lbs. has been grown well below 42 degrees:
 Stelts 1140 - Leetonia, OH - 40:52 degrees
 Checkon 1131 & 1190 UOW - Spangler, PA - 40:38 Degrees
 Skinner 1109 - Barnseville ,OH - 39:59 degrees

Below are the other 1000+ pumpkins grown outside the lines:
 Needham 1064 - Braeside, ON - 45:28
 Holland 1026.5 - Puyallup, WA - 47:11 degrees
 LaRue 1010 & 1016 - Tenino, WA - 46:52 degrees
 Scherber 1009.2 - Wheat Ridge, CO - 39:46 Degrees
 Brown 1007 - Milan, PA - 41:54 degrees

I am not disagreeing with Lyle, just pointing out that the numbers don't
always dictate where the big ones are going to come from. I'm just hoping
the next one comes from 40:04 degrees!
