Chris Anderson Mr. 977 grew in a backyard that had more shade than that.
Look on page 74 of Book 2 world class pumpkins.  This was the first 900+
ever grown in Calif.   So if you get partial shade sometime during the day
I wouldn't worry about especially if your getting good
peaches........................Try not  plant   your  plant near the tree
roots as the Tree and AG will compete for water......MB
