Ray,
Thank you very much ( I sincerly mean that)
This is all I was trying to prove to everyone, the money issue that got
blown out of proportion was not MY intent. The money means nothing to me.
And anyone who really knows me understands that.
I was just trying to show everyone that they are basically the same (
pumpkins & squash) & when a pumpkin throws a "squmpkin" there is a reason it
does so.
And some of todays growers are just as guilty by crossing "tweeners" with
thicker walls & orange ones hoping to create a nice thick orange pumpkin.
And it does work, but it will also throw "squmpkins". So my basic idea is
to just sit back & enjoy them all. People who spend all their time in the
patch & get a "tweener" worked just as hard as those got orange ones.
It's a crap shoot & there are no guarentees for color ( not 100%) because
of the past. No matter what the rules there will always be ways around it
unless there is only 1 class & we all know that will never happen. So until
the day that happens I'll just grow my pumpkins AND squash & enjoy what I've
accomplished.
In time the money goes away, but the memories of your accomplishment stays
with you forever. Lets not mar that with memories of a argument at the
weighoff also.
