Hi Chris,

There is a new product out called The Scare Crow.
It is a motion activated sprinkler.
It works just like those automatic spot lights that you see mounted
on houses and garages.
It is the most effective deterrent for racoons that I've ever seen.
It is alerted to an approaching racoon, dog, cat, or whatever by sensing
both heat and movement. The Scare Crow then unleashes a three second blast
of water
in the direction of the intruder. This has shown to be a highly effective,
yet
harmless method of keeping pests out of the gardens. Each shot uses only
two cups of water.

It can only be found in better garden centers.
In British Columbia it can be purchased at Art Knapp Plantland Stores.
