Joe,
I am going to try a similar method this year. I am going to use an
old rubbermaid cattle watering tank that has a drainage plug at the bottom.
I will adapt the drainage plug to fit a hose and let it go. I may not have
to raise the tank much since I won't have to get a syphon going and it will
be placed slightly uphill from the patch. The tank is dark-gray and will
be placed on the south side of a building to get a little solar heating
going. I hope it works. Last year I tried syphoning it out of the tank in a
different location but had difficulty getting a good syphon started.
