Re: wild idea on aerating soil

Dan and others,

I thought a few years back that there had to be a determination whether Ag's
liked O.M or was it the air gaps created by the The O.M....................I
thought of having passive pipes feed the the air. But in clay (plastic soils)
the air has to flow in freely. I felt in my soil it would shut down or close
and the air routes andwould just find the most convient escape
route.......Maybe?? I never thought of forced air and it could be a great
concept!!.........as I am sure it hasn't been tested,,,,,,,,,,,,,,And
certainly should be tested!!.........lack of oxygen is detrimental ......and
in my soil the major water seems to close out the gaps and cause a weakened
growing condition from lack of Ox. Every season I change my thought on wether
its the seeds destination to acheive what it does....

.as i feel most growers create optimum growing conditions...............I am
just not sure how much we enhance the destination?? ............. we feel we
covered the bases environmently........and its still hit or miss............at
this stage of the game i leaning towards mostly the luck of the seed
draw.......and making sure i have covered the basics.....................in
case the lucky seed lands in my patch........... are there any experienced
growers that feel they have techniques that help guarantee success.??
......brock
