Before you spend time and money on this idea, I would like to make a few
observations. First, what is your goal in aeration? You probably already
know this, but aeration of the soil is used to reduce soil compaction to
promote better root development, increase penetration of water and
nutrients, and increase the pore space (which is the "air" space).
As far as I can see, putting PVC in the ground will not get more air to
the roots. If your soil above the pipe is compacted, the roots will get no
benefit. If your soil is not compacted, then you should have no problems
because the soil will naturally have ample amounts of air available to your
plant roots. Just a thought. What do you think. Did I misunderstand your
idea?
