I am considering building an electronic dendrometer to monitor the
growth
of my pumpkins. Dendrometers typically use a strap, string or cable to
encircle the item being measured, and calculate changes in girth by
monitoring
the cable length. Has anyone experience with materials that are in
constant
contact with the pumpkin and its affects (if any) on the health of the
pumpkin?
