Rock,
Your seed is ahead of mine. Mine was put in a baggie on the evening of 4-10,
had a root on a.m. of 4-14, but I didn't get it into peat pot until p.m. of
4-15 as going to WORK got in the way of pumpkins. (My sincere apologies to
the group for letting my priorities get confused! )
Obviously I have no way of knowing how the 819 will produce, but the near
half dozen reports that have been conveyed to me so far at least all agree
that it is a vigorous germinator.
The 819, and the Sproule 968, are in a dead heat for germination
aggressiveness from my experience. In addition to the Baird 806, the
Pahlmeyer 740 is also a fast starter.
The whole rabbit and turtle thing still comes to mind. October is sooo far
away!
