Learn the Secrets of Growing the Big One
at the
MAMMOTH PUMPKIN STAKE
Seed Starting Meeting and Seed Sale
A Growers Seed Starting Meeting sponsored by the Spencerville Agriculture
Society will be held at the Drummond Building Spencerville Ontario Canada,
starting at 7 pm on Wednesday, April 28th 1999. This meeting will feature
presentations on how to grow Giant Pumpkins by some of the areas top
growers, including the 1994 Canadian Champion, the 1996 World's Champions,
and the Spencerville Fair's Champions. This is a must event for those who
want to learn the secrets to growing the Big One.
The current world record holder is Gary Burke who last year grew a 1092
pound pumpkin in south-western Ontario. We know that this record will be
beaten by an Eastern Ontario Area grower in the near future. We just don't
know who. Our observation is that average weights of Giant Pumpkins jump
dramatically following an information exchange session such as this Seed
Starting Meeting.
