When did you plant, and how big are your fruit right now? Basketball, beach
ball or larger than a bushel basket?
Last week I measured my largest pumpkin at 52"... the things is almost perfectly round, with the stem at the top.  It was pollinated about July 15.  I did cull the others on the vine, so we will see.  I have 5 total pumpkins on 4 vines and I'm happy with them.  No giants... but wait until next year!  Someone told me that the AG vines need about 5 times the space as the Burpee prizewinners so I guess I had better be planning a new spot for them!  I've really enjoyed the mailing list and have learned a lot.  Thanks for taking the time to reply.
Good luck next year and if you need seeds, just ask, most of us have plenty
of seeds to share and would be happy to send you some.
I want to join in PA pumpkin growers assoc. since, as far as I know, there are none in VA.  They also have some seeds available.  I won't need many.  Do you know if color, as well as size, is passed on?  There seem to be a wide range of appearences in the AG's.  What contributes to that?  Thanks again,  Jetta
