first time grower
Thanks for the tips Matt. I plan on taking the twins to Collins, NY. this
fall to get a look at some of the real giants. It has been fun this year.
I think that these cold nights have my pumpkins packing their bags instead
of packing on weight. Their growth is slow and currently only at 64". I
do have a second plant which was started from a seed I got from P & P which
the genetics were not listed but was suppose to be from a 700+ pumpkin
which unfortunately got a late start and pollinated on August 1 but is
growing at a good pace now. Does anyone think that with a warm fall it can
amount to much. It is growing at around 3 " per day even with the cold
nights but is only at around 40" now. I am already looking forward to next
year and hope that I may obtain some good seed stock. good luck to everyone
else out there.
