Re: how often to water

Water, Water let me tell you about water, I had no idea how much water I was
using. I use a spring and with the lack of rainfall I figured I would
conserve it for house usage, so I took a pump and tank to the pond on Mon.
pulled home 300 (yes 300 gallons) and watered my pumpkins, flowers, and all
10 stalks of corn and guess what, I took 'er back down and refilled it again
today! I gave everything a thorough soaking and hopefully won't have to do
it like that again, but it really surprised me how much I did use. I have a
sandy loam and have to water pretty much everyday. If this drought and heat
keeps up I may pull 600 gallons home, 550 for the garden and 50 for the
house,( well maybe 100 as the lil' chil'rens are stinkin' a bit ...LOL)
