RE: Fading Leaves

Just what I like, a very detailed post. But can you tell us over what kind of time period are we talking? You fertilized/watered the stump & vine, then fertilized thru irrigation system (drip? soaker? sprinkler?), then foliar fed? How far between steps and how often did you do this? Just 1 plant for the full listed amounts?
Thanks.
Mark

   Rick
I am seeing this on my 791 Glasier also. According to some books this would
be a sign of lack of nitrogen and or Magnesium. It is the tendency of an
annual plant to discard older leaves to protect future growth. I also had a
heavy infestation of aphids that didn't help too much. This is what "I "Did
to try and counteract the defoliation and it "did help a little" but you may
want to hear from other more experienced growers before you consider it for
yourself..
I took one cup Epsom salt, (pure Magnesium)
and four tablespoons Peters triple 20
added this to a cup Safer brand fish emulsion and put it in an inline
feeder and drenched the trunk and first 8 feet of the main runner.
 then I took
1 cup Epsom salt
2 tbs Peters triple 20
2 tbs Nutraleaf triple 20
1 cup fish emulsion
1 cap full superthrive
and ran it through the irrigation system to evenly feed the plant
followed by a tablespoon of concentrated kelp powder and some fish emulsion
added to a 2 gallon sprayer and did a folier feed.
My amounts of fertilizers added to the drench may had been a little heavier
than the numbers I gave you but lets be safe for now. The leaves have stopped
yellowing and do appear that they are recovering slightly.
Hope this helps but as I said wait till a more experienced grower chimes
in.. OK
Good luck and GROW EM BIG...
