Yes I am one of those guys who may only have 1 hour a day to deal with the
plants "if that" so the applications were all in the same day and couple of
hours apart with the folier last under and over EVERY leaf. The irrigation is
an overhead sprinkler system the folier feed also carried Tempo, a contact
killer for bugs and Benlate a systemic for powdery mildew which came at the
same time as the aphids, And a lavish amount of Baking Soda.
The baking soda is a little controversial at this point as it is sodium
bicarbonate in other words pure salt and is usually used for powdery mildew
but I have also seen some impressive weight gains after using it also!! not
too sure why maybe like in humans salt may cause a sort of "bloating affect"
and i am not too sure what to think of its application?? the fact that
chemical fertilizers are high in salt leads me to believe if you use it only
apply it in small doses like one or two table spoons per gallon per week. BUT
DON'T TRY IT UNTIL YOU CHECK WITH OTHER MORE EXPERIENCED GROWERS !!
The application I suggested was only applied once and yes one dose per
plant. It completely recovered the 986 Hester which was not too bad to start
with but the 791 Glasier with its small thin leaves has not completely
recovered yet but at least it hasn't declined any more. You have to take into
consideration I am a second year grower and am trying some things that other
more experienced growers will cringe at but I am just doing my best with the
Horticultural experience I have gained and the help of my FRIENDS... So try
your best and ask LOTS of questions and maybe one day you will join the ranks
of the growers I idolize on this list !!!! I am still trying !!!!
Well, that's just my two cents take it with a grain of salt BUT i do have
to say it did work for me with my climate and soil conditions and maybe it
could work for you too..
Take care and I sure hope you have a great year !!!!!
