Adam,
Speaking from experience, .... I think it is due to
the high heat that is causing your pumpkins to 'abort'. I myself have lost
everything this year (first time in 7 years) due to the extreme heat-wave that
we have been having here in the NorthEast. Pumpkins will not 'set' in very
high temps. To really hope to succeed, we need to get our plants to set
pumpkins in early July to the 10th of July. But, for you being in Florida
it may be very difficult.
