we've had cuke beetles attack our melon plants and find that sevin works on them if you've got warroir that works too deb

Does anyone know what the black bugs that chew holes in cantelope are called and what to spray for them? They are slightly bigger than a cuc bettle - maybe a little more slender and have about 4 faint white spots on them. They seem to attack cantelope right at the time when they are ripe - so not seem to bother them till then.
