If you grow in the same soil for too many years this is what happens. It's a
combination of fungus disease (like fusarium, anthracnose, downy and powdery
mildew as well as great aphid damage. I would probably fumigate the soil in
the fall with something like basamid. It will kill all diseases and weed
seeds. Try a systemic or triazicide or diazinon for the aphids (they suck
on the juice in leaves etc. and can spread disease). Don C.
