This happened to me several weeks ago with a pumpkin similar in size. The pumpkin was rotting from the inside. I could not find any holes on the exterior of the pumpkin, but eventually, the blossom end of the pumpkin started to turn white and soft. My guess is that your pumpkin is dying.

I'm not sure who to ask about this. This is my first year growing giant pumkins. I've got a pumpkin that has stalled, it was growing at 3-4 inches a day then it stopped at 70 inches, 5 days ago. Is that normal? or will it start growing again? thanks Ken --------------------------------------------------------------------- Pumpkin-growing archives: http://www.hort.net/lists/pumpkins/ To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE PUMPKINS
