Shaded pumpkin, did not over-fertilize with potassium, watered every
day...what went wrong?  We just had some temps in the mid-80's with high
humidity in VT.  That couldn't be a factor, could it?

Steve,

The pumpkin can still send juices across even if you have to cut a bunch off
the stem..but you have to get all the rot out...back to good stem...then you
can paint and dry with fungicide.

The key to stopping rot...is to get the rot all out...otherwise, it will
slowly come back...or worse grow under the?dried fungicide, etc.

No cracks.  Soft tissue on stem, discolored, dampness (which a fan running
for
12 hours mostly cured on bigger fruit)  where the vine enters the stem.  Plan
B fruit has same, with hole in stem.  Steve M.
