We had nothing to lose either. I want to stress that! Daconil, Captan have
their place! We made a paste the consistency of brick mud. Borax and water
with some corn starch so it was "spreadable". Like I said, we will see,
variables are a plenty.

Hi Steve,
I just read your post and headed out to my pumpkin that has developed some
very large splits in the stem. So severe that you can see into the cavity
of the pumpkin. When it first split, I applied Daconil straight from the
jug. I then applied a systemic fungicide. I just got back and filled in
the stem split with the Borax. At this stage, it can't hurt to try
anything. Thanks for the advice.
