RE: stem rot

Thanks Dave. I was afraid that once again, duct tape would be my solution to
a problem. It hasn't come off yet so maybe I'll get lucky.

Hi Steve,
If the stem totally comes off the vine...it is a long time to Oct...but the
fruit would need to be 50-60 days...I would think...but I have not tried to
keep one...right now for ones that have split into the cavitity...I try to
duct tape it shut to see if I can get it to 50-60 days so I can harvest
seeds...and then get rid of the pumpkin ;-).

Subject: stem rot

Hey guys.
I went to take measurements today and found a stem split/rot on a fruit.
pplied Daconil and went to try the Borax. My wife used all of the Borax on
illy things like laundry. In the past, I have discarded fruit if the stem
ecomes unattached at this point. Has anyone had a fruit "finish" after cut
rom the vine this early? By that, I mean had the fruit orange and harden.
'm still in the soft, yellow, rapid growth stage and realize that October
s a stretch. I would like to get at least fertile seeds. I did paint the
nds on my other fruit (thanks Dave!) just in case.
Just wondering,
