I just wounded another SQUASH BORER MOTH .How long can I expect this pest
to
be around -I have no damage at all yet and have been using methoxychlor and
malathion religiously.(every 7 days ).I understand that spraying from June 15
to July 20 will give good control, but I'd like to back off on the heavy
artillary and move to something a little less environment-intrusive (like
Safer's Aphid Attack, etc) as soon as its safe. I've only seen about 6
cucumber
beetles all year here (2 striped,4 spotted),aphids, and the vine borer
moths. What do Atlantic coasters/Northeasters do ?Thanx.130 OTT and putting on
7" a day on Long Island. >>
Hard to predict life cycle, it is set by degree days, a warm summer they can
be gone by July 20th. But in a cool summer they can be active a month longer.
I keep spraying for them until late August.
