Every event in this area is open and friendly. In fact the the sponsors give
you free things to entice you. The big pumpkins bring the crowds that buy
other stuff.
If you want to get your pumpkin weighed officially, because it might be big
enough to get on the list of "over 700's" that the NWGPGA keeps, for example,
then you want it official. But as some other folks, say, if it does not
matter to a person, then it does not matter.
I think contests are fun. And if you win something, its even better.
