Gene,
Hey, thats a pile of information, never thought of getting chemicals
from an FS dealer, might save some money next year, never heard of "Pounce"
that might be worth looking into also. Great work! keep us posted on futher
findings.----Elkskin

Thanks for the wake up call !
Well you got me really thinking and
I golf with a farmer that raises pumpkins on 20 acres. he raises them for
Halloween. I called and asked him that ? about SVB's. He said they use
sevin early and often. He said it is mainly for the cucumber bugs. First
sprays when the leafs come out of the ground and then about once aweek
until he can not get down the rows, rain is the factor. He also uses a
fungicide at that time
( called cocide ) also. reason being cucumber bugs can open up the leafs
to diseases . After that he Arial sprays with( pounce). he only does this
once or twice after he no long can get down the rows. He said that depends
on the cucumber bugs on how much the come back. Pounce is something like
sevin He said he knows that he has SVB' s but the damage is minimal. Sevin
does a good job. He uses the big farm sprayers and said that it gets
plants and the ground both. The farmers name is Jim anderson and he lives
Five miles out of town and has planting pumpkins for 12 yrs. he gets all of
his chemicals at the FS dealer in bulk.
As for Libby's its an hours drive and my next day off is Monday ,so I will
try to get down there to talk to someone or some farmer that raises them
for Libby's
Road trip. Oh ya thanks for waking up this brain dead pumpkin grower
(thats me)
