What I did was take storm windows that i would use for a pumpkin
greenhouse and lay them down on the grass on a sunny day. It heats up
enough to dry the grass to a crisp in one day. Then, i turn it under with a
shovel. The grass is too damaged to make a comeback then. If you do it
when the soil is already a little dry, the shoveling goes real easy.
