Re: Attention IL.growers

    I've got 2 plants with 3 pumpkins so far.  Things were looking so good
in July.  Second week in July the one was at 165 lbs.  Today August 9 the
weight is still 165 lbs with brown spots beginning to form on it.  I think
its going down for the 10 count.  Possibly all that 90+ days did it in.      
     2nd pumpkin is about 170lbs.  Unfortunately I think I'm  sharing the
same problem as fellow IL. grower George J. with stem rot.  The last few
days the stem is getting softer and softer, not sure what caused that.  
     As far as the 3rd pumpkin, well Junior might top 100 lbs by September.
