In my last update I reported that when I was adjusting the position of a
nicely shaped fruit on the 759 Mombert 97 plant I cracked the stem. That
happened on 8-12. On 8-15 it measured 62" in circumference. Measured
yesterday 8-18 it was 71" . No fungicides or pesticides have been used in
the patch this year. No signs of any rot with the cracked stem either. It
will be interesting to see what happens with this one. The stem is cracked
2/3 of the way through.
