My field in Florida had baking heat for over two months without rain last year
during the drought. Wildfires made matters worse by adding heat and heavy
smoke to the air.
Yes, I wanted a shade cover for the field, but of course it was impossible.
Instead, I watered twice daily, including a thorough bath for the leaves. We
had no problems with leaf burn, only heat stress wilt, which corrected itself
with watering. No problems with fungus, either.
I know how you feel, you'll have to keep a close eye on things during that
kind of heat.
